Brookdale Kitchen Renovation
Brookdale Senior living is an independent living facility located in St. Peter’s, MO offering a variety of amenities to their residents. The one area that was lacking was space and storage in the existing commercial kitchen. Vessel was brought on board to help the community work through the challenges of expanding the kitchen while maintaining meal service for the residents of the building.
The original building kitchen was only 625 square feet. The small size and large number of residents imposed quite the delicate balance in the kitchen during meal prep and service. The renovation project expanded the kitchen to double the original size and now contains a prep area, dry storage and walk in coolers.
In order the make this renovation possible Vessel worked closely with the owner and staff to create extensive phasing plans that would keep the kitchen operational for as long as possible. During the time the kitchen was not able to be used Brookdale operated out of a mobile kitchen unit to ensure residents received the same dining experience they were accustomed to.
