National Hot Dog Day

Here at Vessel we’re always looking for an excuse to break out the “Hot Diggity Dogger” and what better reason that to celebrate National Hot Dog Day!!

Some interesting facts about the hot dog:

Hot dogs are a kind of sausage, which may date back to the 7th century BCE;
Both Frankfurt, Germany and Vienna, Austria claim to be the birthplace of the hot dog;
Baseball stadiums serve approximately 26 million hot dogs each year;
National Hot Dog day is celebrated in the US (natch!), but also in Canada and Australia;
