Oasis Digital
Oasis Digital is a leader in the realm of technology support and training. Like Vessel, they are based in the Midwest, but serve clients across the nation. Like many of Vessel's happiest clients, Oasis Digital had spoken with other architects who just didn't quite "get" Oasis, nor understand how they needed their space to work and feel.
Flexibility was essential to a successful design; but that flexibility had to establish order in an unusually shaped interior space. However, the heart of the project was not about reconfiguration, rather, movement.
A thoughtful, intentional programming exercise established a detailed list of functions, spaces, and relationships to fill 3,500 square feet of space. Instead of being labeled with dedicated functions, meeting spaces were labeled "S,M,L, and XL". The largest space is designed to host a seminar of 50 people. To provide support for acoustics and A/V systems, the walls were fixed; but two large openings with overhead doors allow the space to open fully to the common spaces in the office, so that one event can flow seamlessly, from a time of focused instruction into a time of relaxed social gathering.
Vessel also provided interior design leadership on the project. We collaborated with Oasis leaders to establish a modern, neutral palette of blues and grays, onto which they applied their own good design instincts with curated art pieces, eclectic modern furniture groupings, and custom mill work. The end result is a space with intelligence, flexibility, warmth, and professional humor. In essence, it is a perfect reflection of the people of Oasis Digital.
