Private Residence
After working in Europe for the majority of their lives, a couple came to Vessel and asked us to design their retirement home. They had five acres of their family’s land in the Pacific area surrounded by beautiful, mature trees and wanted us to create a “house in the forest.”
Although they are not yet retired, we designed the home so they could comfortably age in place. Everything is on the main level. The lower level was intentionally designed as a completely separable guest suite, including a full kitchen. This offers total privacy for all.
Every detail in this project was custom crafted for the client, from the scale of the home to the rustic modern finishes. We were able to incorporate aspects from their time abroad in the design details, and even included a sauna for the added health benefits.
