Martha Place
Business Manager
Martha will be the first to admit that she has enjoyed an interesting and varied career. After spending 20 years in the tourism industry in Illinois, Iowa, and Arizona, she switched gears and worked for 6 years with Edward Jones Investments as a financial advisor, then a branch office manager and registered stock broker. From there, she had a stint in the construction industry with Precision Builders in Sullivan, Illinois. But St. Louis kept beckoning, and she moved back across the river and landed with Vessel.
Martha uses her keen organizational skills and her love of facts and figures to keep the Vessel back office running smoothly and efficiently. We suspect undiagnosed OCD…books are lined up by height, coffee containers are alphabetized, and anything left in the fridge overlong is subject to seizure and quick disposal.
In her off hours, you can find her on the beautiful hiking trails of Missouri and various other locales, domestic and international, spending time with friends and family, listening to music, watching old movies, or (most likely) with her nose stuck in a book.
