National Children's Cancer Society Master Plan

Client
National Children's Cancer Society

Description
When NCCS needed to conceptualize their new national headquarters they turned to Vessel to Master Plan an urban site in St. Louis.  As you might imagine, the users of the building and grounds are pretty special!  The challenge was to design to support the daily functional requirements of a large non-profit organization and at the same time be a place of rejuvenation for children with cancer and their families.  Our concept embraced the metaphor of the butterfly which is expressed in the layout of the site and building in both plan and three dimensionally.
